Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the benefits of football scholarship with volunteering for the community. The first family is his youngest of the nine children born to Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon raised on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two football. He is one of three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. Three of them were All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy was named the best offensive lineman in the nation by the Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. The three years he was a starter Oklahoma went 32- 1-1 and won two national championships. The third scholarship was awarded to him. He was as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a diploma as an educator. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. Following college, he relocated into Tampa and played for nine years with the Buccaneers. He was an All-Pro 3 times. Then he started his professional career. He was an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder that the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as among the top 10 young men across the nation. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. When he was playing college, he was the captain of the team of 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an assistant director of sports. In 1988, Selmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In addition, he was inducted into his way into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 presented the Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor, who awarded this award.
