Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who was able to transcend from the country genre to mainstream pop culture, becoming an icon of the world of pop. Swift left her country roots as though they were part of her skin, revealing she was possibly the most savvy popular singer/songwriter in her generation someone who was able to harness the mood of the moment and personalize it and equally impressively do in the opposite direction. These skills were evident on her early hits including the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering who she was and, in doing so, gaining an audience of mass. Fearless had a great success not only in America, but also with six platinum-certified singles. Its Top Ten songs Love Story & I Belong with Me were the most important reasons. However, it did well all over the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years later consolidated that success and moved Swift towards the top of stardom. The popularity of Swift only grew through her subsequent three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 and found her moving assuredly into a realm of pop music that she had already been a part of. Her name was always in the forefront of pop even after she changed her style with her sibling albums, folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
